Body of Science: Exploring Biomedical Engineering

(Grades 2-4)

Biomedical engineers use their knowledge of engineering, biology, and medicine to design equipment and devices to help improve the lives of people who are sick or have disabilities. They design prosthetic limbs and work with doctors to come up with new medicines or drugs that can treat diseases or illnesses. If you like learning how the body works and helping people, this class is for you!

Discover firsthand the exciting world of biology and biomedical engineering. Learn the principles of the human body and explore the senses of vision, hearing, and touch (plus a secret sixth sense). Learn how to stay healthy and how assistive technologies help people every day. Design and build your own helmets, stethoscopes, robotic hands, and more!
